Minneapolis-based integrator FORTÉ has acquired Vega Global, a systems integrator with a significant presence across the APAC region, in a deal brokered through Chicago-based Baird Capital. Terms of the transaction between the two private companies were not disclosed. The move comes shortly after FORTÉ announced it would end its six-year partnership with the Global Presence Alliance (GPA), a network of independent AV integrators, at the end of 2026.
The acquisition takes FORTÉ’s headcount past 20 countries, with AV solutions and managed services now offered in more than 70 major markets. Alongside its existing US, German, Irish, Mexican, Swedish and UK operations, the company gains offices across Australia, mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the UAE and Vietnam. Vega brings more than 750 employees to FORTÉ, growing its workforce by roughly 50 per cent.
Jeff Stoebner, chairman and CEO of FORTÉ, told Systems Contractor News, Installation‘s B2B sister publication, that the deal “accelerates our ambition of being as close to our global customers as possible”.
He added that the APAC region is expected to generate close to US$200m in pro AV business this year, with Vega growing at a rate of 14 per cent CAGR.
Vega will eventually be rebranded under the FORTÉ name, a process expected to take close to a year; in the interim it will operate as Vega Global, A FORTÉ Company. Steven Medeiros, who currently leads Vega, will remain with the business as CEO of FORTÉ Asia.
