GUDE Systems, a Cologne-based manufacturer of IP-based power distribution units (PDUs), has integrated its smart PDUs into Lightware’s LARA (Lightware Advanced Room Automation) platform. The new GUDE driver module allows AV equipment and power distribution to be managed together through unified automation workflows, configured directly within the LARA environment. The integration is suitable for corporate, educational and conference environments, as well as larger, distributed AV systems where multiple devices need to be monitored from a central location.

The integration allows GUDE’s Expert Power Control series to be managed directly through LARA, combining device control, room automation and energy management within a single tool. Features include automated startup and shutdown routines, remote reboots of individual devices over the local network, power consumption monitoring and event logging, alongside faster commissioning as GUDE devices can be added as instances directly within LARA.
