UVS outlines support for discontinued Netpix systems

Video wall specialist outlines maintenance and upgrade options for control room users after Leyard Europe ends production of Netpix controllers

Video wall specialist Ultimate Visual Solutions (UVS) has outlined a support package for users of Netpix video wall controllers after Leyard Europe confirmed it is discontinuing the range with immediate effect.

The Netpix platform is now end of production, with systems remaining in operation supported under existing warranty arrangements. UVS says it will continue to provide long-term support for installed systems, including maintenance contracts covering telephone, remote and onsite assistance.

UVS says it has worked with Netpix controllers in control room environments for 19 years, supplying and supporting deployments in the UK and internationally. The company says it has installed hundreds of systems and will continue to support them throughout their lifecycle.

An upgrade path is available through the company’s Lucidity video wall controller platform. The WBC110 controller uses the same input and output cards as Netpix systems, while Lucidity software is compatible with Netpix controllers from the 4900 series onwards.

Steve Murphy, managing director at Ultimate Visual Solutions, said: “As part of our ongoing strategic planning for our business, and as we have continued to support and supply the Netpix solution for clients who still wanted to use it, UVS has always considered what contingency plans we would be able to offer to Netpix clients if production of the Netpix solution did not continue in the long term”.

Murphy added: “We already have numerous clients who we have successfully transitioned from the Netpix video wall controller across to other video wall controller solutions, predominantly the UVS Lucidity video wall controller and software solution.”

The Lucidity platform is used in control room environments including emergency services, government facilities and secure sites, where video wall control and system flexibility are key requirements.
