PlexusAV makes IPMX transceiver available worldwide

The P-AVN-6-S supports uncompressed video over 25GbE and JPEG XS over 1GbE, bridging SDI infrastructure and IP-based production networks in a single certified unit

PlexusAV has made its P-AVN-6-S IPMX transceiver available globally, offering a bridge between traditional SDI infrastructure and IP-based workflows for broadcast, live production and pro AV. The unit supports uncompressed video over IPMX and SMPTE ST 2110-compliant networks at up to 4K60, alongside JPEG XS over standard 1GbE networks. PlexusAV is the pro AV division of Sencore.

The transceiver features native 12G-SDI input and output, HDMI loop out and dual SFP28 interfaces supporting 10GbE and 25GbE. JPEG XS support allows the same unit to operate on 1GbE infrastructure, while no additional software licences are required for ST 2110 or IPMX operation. Integrated PTP-to-Genlock conversion synchronises SDI outputs with IP-based timing, while SMPTE ST 2022-7 hitless redundancy supports continuity across independent primary and secondary network paths.

The P-AVN-6-S received IPMX product certification at the second IPMX Product Testing and Certification Event in Geneva in August. Hosted by the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), the Video Services Forum (VSF) and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the event expanded testing to cover security and compression. The product has also received the HETMA Gold Award for Best AVoIP Product.

Steven Cogels, director of business development at PlexusAV, said: “Most facilities want IPMX without rebuilding their network to get it. The P-AVN-6-S runs uncompressed on 25GbE where that infrastructure exists, and JPEG XS on the 1GbE network that’s already in the building. It’s one product with nothing to unlock later, built for customers where broadcast and Pro AV increasingly overlap.”

Additional features include Dante and AES67 audio transport for up to eight channels, NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 discovery and connection management, a REST API and integration with PlexusAV Visual Array for centralised management.

The P-AVN-6-S is available through PlexusAV’s global reseller and distribution network. The company says further products will be introduced at ISE 2027, expanding its portfolio of compressed and uncompressed AVoIP, hybrid SDI/IP and audio transport solutions.
