The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) has announced the results of its second IPMX Product Certification Test Event, held August 24-28 at the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) headquarters in Geneva. Eight manufacturers submitted 14 products for testing, all of which were certified to the Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX) standard, qualifying them to carry the IPMX branding and signalling compliance with published transport, control and interoperability requirements. The EBU serves as the independent certification authority for IPMX, while AIMS administers the certification programme overall.
Solutions from Bridge Technologies, Cobalt Digital, EvertzAV, ITDev, intoPIX, Matrox Video, Macnica and PlexusAV successfully passed certification. Testing covered baseline IPMX requirements alongside uncompressed video and audio, the JPEG XS profile, the JPEG XS TDC profile mode, and HKEP and PEP capabilities. This is the second certification event since the programme’s inaugural session in January 2026, which certified 48 products from 10 manufacturers, and continues the shift from informal plugfests to a formal, repeatable certification process.
Sam Recine, IPMX Pro AV Working Group Chair at AIMS, said: “Interoperability claims are easy to make and hard to verify. This program gives the industry an independent answer. Products are tested against published requirements by the EBU, and the results are public. That is what buyers need to specify IPMX with confidence.”
IPMX is a set of open standards designed to extend SMPTE ST 2110-based media transport and NMOS-based control into professional AV, live events, corporate media and education, alongside broadcast applications. The standard also introduces support for compressed video, simplified system timing, HDCP, interoperable USB over IP and media encryption between brands.
