Real-life signage and wayfinding in malls

A digital signage solution specifically dedicated to shopping malls is on show at the dimedis stand.

Visitors can see how mfi Management für Immobilien AG is using the dimedis kompas wayfinding and kompas digital signage solution in its Arcaden shopping mall chain, which is present in 20 locations in Germany.

The terminals used by mfi, which come with two large independently operating touchscreen displays, a printer, a card reader and a camera, can integrate with existing coupon systems. Visitors can see how those terminals are being used to improve communication, engagement and interaction with shoppers as well as strengthening customer loyalty.

The company is also presenting a terminal that is used for wayfinding in the Arcaden shopping malls. Visitors can use kompas wayfinding, which relies on touchscreen interactions and a LogoCloud interface.

The system documents all actions taken by users trying to find their way and offers anonymised trends and statistics to its operators. Each kompas wayfinding terminal calculates routes dynamically, based on its current position and orientation, meaning that the terminals can be installed anywhere on the premises.
