The Digital Signage Summit (DSS) 2026 celebrated its 20th anniversary in Munich on 21-22 May, bringing together senior executives, technology leaders and strategists to examine the forces reshaping the digital signage and digital out-of-home (DOOH) sectors.
Organised by invidis consulting in collaboration with Integrated Systems Events (ISE), this year’s summit centred on the theme of ‘NextGen Signage’, with discussions focusing on how the industry is evolving beyond traditional hardware-led models towards increasingly software-driven, platform-based and service-oriented ecosystems.
Topics including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, orchestration, industry consolidation and changing market dynamics featured prominently throughout the conference programme. According to organisers, keynote presentations, panel discussions and breakout sessions highlighted the growing importance of operational resilience, long-term scalability and strategic positioning as the market continues to evolve.
In its 20th year, DSS also reflected the increasing role of leadership-level dialogue within the sector, with hundreds of C-suite executives and senior decision-makers attending the event.
Florian Rotberg, founder and managing director of invidis consulting, said: “Companies are no longer discussing what might happen one day, they are making strategic decisions now about platforms, AI, operations and long-term scalability. You can really see priorities changing, from rapid growth to making the right decisions for the long term.”
The event also featured the invidis Strategy Awards, recognising projects, technologies and organisations across categories including software and platforms, managed services, innovation, sustainability and industry leadership.
The Digital Signage Summit will return to the Hilton Munich Airport on 12-13 May 2027.
