Tateside equips UK wellness retreat with AVL systems

London integrator has installed Q-SYS processing, Martin Audio and Bowers & Wilkins loudspeakers, plus MADRIX-controlled LED lighting at Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds, England

Tateside has completed an integration project at Soho Farmhouse, a luxury countryside retreat in the Cotswolds, UK, installing new audio, video and lighting systems across the site’s health and wellbeing areas and tennis and padel facilities.

The project included upgrades to existing spaces and complete new fit-outs. The Boathouse wellbeing area features Bowers & Wilkins AM1 loudspeakers in the indoor and outdoor pool areas, with Sonance VPXT6R in-ceiling units in the sauna and steam room, chosen for their ability to withstand high temperatures. All audio zones are powered by a Q-SYS Core backend, with control via Attero Tech Axon C1 wall plates and amplification from Powersoft Unica amplifiers.

The spin studio integration includes ceiling-suspended and low-level LED lighting controlled via MADRIX, designed to create immersive effects that can be adjusted to match the rhythm and energy of sessions. Instructors can access lighting modes via a Stream Deck controller, pre-programmed with different settings. The studio also features Martin Audio loudspeakers and two 75-inch Samsung displays.

The Wellness Barn encompasses two divisible studios for yoga and pilates, plus a recovery room and reception area. Martin Audio loudspeakers are integrated into the studio joinery, with a hidden projection system and Q-SYS handling the connection between rooms, controlled via an iPad touchscreen.

The tennis and padel courts feature Bowers & Wilkins AM1 loudspeakers mounted to steel framework pillars, with four units per court. The adjacent terrace and bar area is equipped with two Martin Audio CDD8 units and an Audac ultra-compact 10-inch architectural infrasubwoofer, recessed into the building.

Joby Morris, project manager at Tateside, said: “We’re particularly proud of the bespoke work that went into creating the spin studio. All LED elements were commissioned and programmed offsite to ensure efficient installation, and the result is a customisable lighting experience that is easy for instructors to control.”
