Sony BRAVIA Professional Displays have been deployed across 100 Booker Wholesale locations in the UK to establish a new nationwide retail media network.
The company says the network is designed to provide brand partners with a digital advertising channel aimed at engaging trade customers throughout their shopping journey. Pixel Inspiration delivered the project in partnership with retail media specialist dunnhumby, installing 65in displays across Booker’s UK estate within an eight-week rollout cycle.
Positioned at rack ends and above palletised merchandise, the displays were fitted with a custom mounting and protective shroud developed with Unicol. The enclosure is designed to protect equipment against accidental impacts from stock movement, pallet handling and warehouse operations while ensuring appropriate ventilation.
Sony’s Android-based System on Chip (SoC) technology eliminates the requirement for external media players, streamlining the installation process. The display network is controlled centrally via the DISE content management system, allowing targeted campaign distribution across all participating stores.
Remote device management is handled through Sony Remote Device Manager, allowing technical teams to monitor screens, apply firmware updates and execute maintenance tasks without on-site intervention. Installation work was carried out outside peak trading hours to prevent disruption to daily wholesale operations.
Karl Ingham, key account manager at Sony Professional Displays and Solutions Europe, said: “Booker’s nationwide retail media network is a great example of how digital signage is evolving to create new opportunities for brands to engage customers in highly relevant environments. This deployment demonstrates the scalability and versatility of Sony’s display technology, while the combination of high-quality visuals, remote device management and reliable performance makes it well suited to the demands of a busy wholesale environment.”
