Renewable energy provider Octopus Energy has rolled out more than 400 Sony BRAVIA professional displays across its UK offices. The deployment was delivered through Sony integrator AT&C and is designed to support the company’s environmental goals whilst improving employee communications.
The energy company required displays that could be centrally managed, remotely monitored, and intelligently scheduled to minimise energy consumption across multiple sites. After evaluating options, Octopus Energy selected Sony’s BZ30J and BZ30L models in sizes ranging from 32in to 98in for use in meeting rooms, breakout areas, operational centres, and collaboration spaces.
Octopus Energy says it now saves more than £90,000 per year across all sites through scheduled power management alone. Sony’s energy-saving features, including power scheduling profiles and compatibility with Sony’s Remote Device Management (RDM) platform, enable Octopus Energy to automate screen activity, diagnose issues remotely, and optimise energy use.
Paddy Harvey, techops audio visual specialist at Octopus Energy Group, said: “Sony offered the right balance of design, performance and value at the scale we needed. The displays look great in our spaces, deliver consistently high picture quality, and were competitively priced for a large, multi-site rollout.”
He added: “Power scheduling and remote management were key for us. Using Sony’s RDM platform, we’ve significantly reduced energy consumption across our offices whilst also simplifying support. Being able to monitor and diagnose issues remotely has cut downtime and reduced the need for unnecessary site visits.”
The displays are designed to provide content delivery for internal communications, live dashboards, marketing content, training materials, and hybrid meeting environments. The installation ensures each office location benefits from centrally managed AV infrastructure.
Adam Dover, senior trade and segment marketing manager for Sony Europe, said: “Octopus Energy’s forward-thinking deployment of Sony professional displays showcases how technology can help organisations reduce energy consumption whilst enhancing employee experience. This aligns with Sony’s long-standing Road to Zero initiative.”
