D.A.S. solution for Spanish arena

The Buesa Arena, located in the Basque city of Vitoria, Spain, is home to local basketball team Baskonia. A D.A.S. Audio system was chosen to drive sound around the multi-purpose facility.

A recent remodeling of Buesa Arena pavilion in the Basque city of Vitoria, Spain, saw the deployment of a D.A.S. professional sound system, inclusive of the Aero 12A self-powered line array systems. Home to Vitoria’s basketball team Baskonia, the multi-purpose area can accommodate over 15,000 spectators. Integrator Grupo Ingevision (Ekintza), based in San Sabastiån, was enlisted to install the system in conjunction with D.A.S. Sound Projects Department, which was led by Eva Argandoña. Víctor Catalá from the D.A.S. Audio Engineering Department was on hand for system adjustments and set up, and the project was co-ordinated by the northern zone manager, Juan José Soto. The main sound reinforcement system for the stands boasts no fewer than 40 D.A.S. Aero 12A self-powered line array systems distributed in four 10-unit linear formations, each facing one of the four main stands. Meanwhile, D.A.S. DSP-2060 digital signal processors take care of the monitoring and management of the system. Four D.A.S. BiDriver systems were installed directly underneath a centrally-positioned octagonal scoreboard to provide optimum sound coverage for the court during athletic and other events. These systems are responsible for carrying messages from the organisation megaphone to event spectators. Corresponding signal amplification arrives via the D.A.S. SLA-2600, a switchmode power supply amplifier, while a digital signal processor, the D.A.S. DSP-26, handles the labour and management of the system. www.dasaudio.com
