Praevar has expanded its Podium series of outdoor displays, introducing new Direct View LED and ePaper technology options designed for 24/7 operation. Based in Ontario, Canada, the manufacturer announced on October 26 that the Podium dvLED and Podium eLuminex ePoster, powered by E Ink Kaleido 3, will join its existing LCD models. The company says the unified platform allows network operators and municipalities to select suitable display tech within a single enclosure system.
Praevar Podium dvLED is designed for high-impact applications requiring bright visual delivery. It features Direct View LED technology with more than 4,000 nits of brightness, a 30,000:1 contrast ratio, 281 trillion colours, and a 160° viewing angle. The unit incorporates Flip-chip COB/MIP encapsulation to protect the display in demanding outdoor environments, making it suitable for retail media, digital out-of-home advertising, and transit hubs.
Praevar Podium eLuminex ePoster provides a reflective, full-colour ePaper solution that consumes approximately one-tenth the power of traditional digital signage. Operating at 28W with its laminated front light off and 64W with the front light on, the energy-efficient screen draws power primarily when content changes. The company says its matte finish complies with local authority regulations limiting bright or continuously moving digital signage.
Ralph Idems, CEO, said: “Outdoor digital signage customers need the flexibility to choose the right display technology for every application.” Ralph Idems, CEO, added: “By expanding the Podium platform with dvLED and E Ink Kaleido 3 ePaper, we’re giving customers more choice while maintaining the reliability, serviceability, low TCO, and energy-efficient outdoor display solutions for DOOH advertising and smart city infrastructure.”
Praevar equips every display in the expanded Podium platform with an outdoor environmental management system featuring direct air cooling, sensor-driven thermal control, and two-stage filtration for temperatures ranging from –30°C to +50°C. Additionally, existing Podium enclosures can be upgraded through the company’s Midlife Extension Program, which Praevar says reduces capital investment, lowers electronic waste, and extends overall infrastructure lifespan.
