ViewSonic has started shipping the LDS136-152, the fourth generation of its LDS series of mobile direct view LED (dvLED) displays. The 136in foldable video wall on wheels is supplied pre-assembled and is designed to be set up within minutes.
The main upgrade is a built-in, commercial-grade motorised stand with an extra 3.7ft of vertical adjustment, which the company says lifts the screen higher than any other dvLED in its class. An integrated remote controls both the screen settings and the lift, while rear I/O ports can be reached without opening panels or exposing internal boards. An integrated OPS slot allows the system to be expanded.
The display has a native 1080p resolution, 600-nit brightness, a 3840Hz refresh rate, a 6,500:1 contrast ratio and dual 30W speakers. Glue-on-Board (GOB) technology protects the LED panels, and IP65 and IK06 ratings are designed to give resistance to dust, moisture and impact. A redesigned hinge is intended to withstand repeated setup and transport, and the screen moves on 360-degree wheels, folds to fit most elevators and ships in a flight case.
Connectivity includes four HDMI inputs, one HDMI output, SPDIF, 3.5mm audio out, USB, WiFi, Bluetooth, Ethernet and RS-232. It supports split-screen, picture-by-picture from up to four inputs and picture-in-picture, and ViewSonic’s AirSync software allows wireless sharing from devices using AirPlay and Google Cast. Control integration is via a Q-SYS Library Verified plug-in, and the display is also compatible with Crestron, Extron and AMX systems.
ViewSonic says the installation-free design can reduce deployment complexity and costs compared with permanent dvLED, and could suit historic or listed buildings in Europe where structural modifications are restricted.
Brian Wei, head of product management at ViewSonic, said: “The ViewSonic mobile dvLED solution delivers a giant LED screen that arrives ready to go, so our partners and customers can skip complex installations. The LDS136-152 sets up in minutes and ships in a rugged flight case for easy transport and storage. Just unfold it, plug it in and you’re ready to showcase content or present messaging to your audience. It’s one of the easiest ways to get a larger-than-life, stunning display wherever you need it.”
