LG pro displays integrate with Cisco for enhanced videoconferencing

LG Electronics (LG) has announced that six models of LG Ultra HD displays and 20 models of LG full HD displays are now fully compatible with the Cisco Room Kit, Room Kit Plus and Cisco SX series.

LG Electronics (LG) has announced that six models of LG Ultra HD displays and 20 models of LG full HD displays are now fully compatible with the Cisco Room Kit, Room Kit Plus and Cisco SX series.

This partnership is aimed at combining each manufacturer’s strengths to create the ideal solution for videoconferencing, distribution and presentation of content. Together, the systems will offer excellent colour rendering for video formats and presentations, integrated automatic no-touch configuration, automatic input labelling for fast recognition, and trouble-free synchronisation through low-latency detection.

The LG models that are compatible with the Cisco Room Kit are the Ultra HD 49in-98in of the UH5 range and the full HD 32in-65in displays (from 32SM5 to 65SM5). This means that there are models for every meeting room. All LG professional displays feature In-Plane Switching (IPS) technology, allowing accurate colours to be displayed correctly from any angle. IPS also has a fast liquid crystal recovery property.

The collaboration between LG and Cisco has led to a user-friendly system with automatic integration and no-touch setup: as soon as the LG display detects that the Cisco device is connected to the HDMI port, it will configure and calibrate itself to avoid configuration problems. The LG professional displays automatically adapt with Cisco Room Kits on their first use. They support all advanced features via the Cisco Touch 10 controller, whether sharing from a wired or wireless source, streaming video or live content, or having simple one-on-one conversations. In addition to the automated setup, LG and Cisco have developed the ability to monitor and report the status of each device, including the display, via Codec and single HDMI cable.

“As work habits evolved, businesses developed a critical need to communicate and share effectively,” said Richard Topping, European account manager at LG. “The integration of six LG models with Cisco Room Kit and Cisco Room Kit Plus can deliver turnkey videoconferencing solutions with the highest visual performance. This complete integration with Cisco is an example of the potential and versatility of LG’s professional displays. LG is ready to support any business need with innovative and effective solutions.”
