As in 2014, Education will be an important category in this year’s InstallAwards. This category covers installations in schools, colleges, and universities – and also other learning environments such as conference centres and corporate training centres.
Last year, the Best Project Award and Star Product Award were both won by specialist integrator CDEC. The Best Project Award was presented for the work done at the Phoenix Academy in Telford, UK. The vision was to have a system that would enable teachers to simply connect to the board from a device where they could access and share all their teaching resources. Central to delivering on this vision was the use of Sahara Presentation Systems’ Clevertab touchscreens, and it was for this that CDEC picked up the Star Product Award.

The Teamwork Award within the Education category went to Meyer Sound for the company’s part in the installation at the Kanbar Forum at the Exploratorium in San Francisco, US. To implement the immersive sound system, systems integrator BBI Engineering worked in close consultation with Meyer Sound’s Constellation team on the design particulars. Constellation project director John Pellowe collected the award.
For the 2015 InstallAwards, projects from all six categories will compete for a single Team of the Year Award.
There is no fee to enter a project for the InstallAwards, and any company or individual can submit up to three entries – either in the same category or across multiple categories.

Nominations are open to any permanent or semi-permanent installation, anywhere in the world, handed over to the client between 1 March 2014 and 28 February 2015.
