Monitor Audio Group (MAG) has announced a partnership with the Museum of Youth Culture, a new London-based museum that will open in December, dedicated to documenting and preserving the stories, styles, and sounds that have defined youth culture for generations. There will be a special emphasis on British and global music scenes from the post-war era to the present day.
The partnership aims to celebrate the vibrant relationship between music, audio technology, and youth culture. It will encompass several initiatives over the next year, including exhibitions, interactive listening experiences, and youth-led workshops.
Across the 6,500sqft site in Camden, close to the iconic subculture heritage of Camden High Street, Monitor Audio Group has selected speakers from its Architectural Series portfolio, designed to complement the museum’s urban, industrial aesthetic.
Monitor says the Climate Series 3G CL2 M speakers in black blend throughout the space, while the THX Ultra Certified, Cinergy Series is designed to deliver powerful, large-scale audio in areas where visuals and sound work together to tell the story of youth culture.
Across the museum, MAG’s Installation Amplifiers 2G and streaming amplifiers deliver the flexibility to zone audio for different curated exhibitions.
Michael Johnson, global marketing director of MAG, said: “This partnership is a fantastic opportunity to connect with music lovers of all ages and provide a rich, authentic listening experience that brings the stories and exhibits of youth culture to life.”
Jon Swinstead, founder of The Museum of Youth Culture stated: “Monitor Audio has transformed how visitors can experience our exhibitions. Now they don’t just see youth culture, they can hear and feel it. We aren’t stuffy, this is a museum with a small ‘m’. We’re creating spaces that tell stories of who we are. Youth culture drives innovation, challenges norms and creates communities. It’s why MOYC matters, and why we want everyone to be part of it.”
In addition to in-museum installations, the partnership will extend to a series of digital and community initiatives aimed at making the museum’s collections and Monitor Audio’s technology accessible to a broader audience.
