Martin Audio line arrays bolster Dutch production house

Purple Group, based in Apeldoorn, has invested in WPC and WPL Wavefront Precision systems, supplied by Dutch distributor Ampco Flashlight Sales

Martin Audio’s WPC and WPL Wavefront Precision line array systems have been added to the rental inventory of Purple Group, a production house based in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, supplied by Dutch distributor Ampco Flashlight Sales.

The company, which has over 30 years of experience in lighting, sound, video and rigging, has previously deployed Martin Audio systems including the W8LC, W8LM and Longbow. The initial investment comprised 24 WPC elements – a medium-format, three-way bi-amped 2 x 10in array – paired with 24 SX218 dual-18in subwoofers, TORUS T1215 constant curvature loudspeakers as front fills, and iKON multi-channel power amplifiers.

The WPC system was first deployed at Zwarte Cross in Lichtenvoorde, a motocross and music festival, and at the Nirwana Tuinfeest rock festival. Following positive feedback, Purple Group made a second investment, adding 24 WPL large-format 2 x 12in elements and 24 SXH218 high-output subwoofers.

Robert de Loey, of Purple Group, said: “I’ve enjoyed working with Martin Audio for years. The brand has always proven to be reliable, delivering a sonic signature that immediately appeals to both artists and engineers.”

Guus Hoekstra, also of Purple Group, added: “The combination of Martin Audio’s WPC and WPL gives us the flexibility to serve a wide variety of shows, from festivals to indoor events. This makes it a valuable investment, both now and in the future.”

Martijn de Jong, of Ampco Flashlight Sales, added: “With this expansion, Purple Group now commands two powerful, flexible, and future-proof systems.”
