Wharfedale Pro showcased its WPI immersive audio platform at Soundcheck 2026, a four-day programme hosted by regional distributor Techniline in Dubai. The event from October 13-16 combined technical training, practical demonstrations and networking for professionals working across the regional pro audio market.
Training covered amplifier and DSP fundamentals, system configuration and the manufacturer’s DSP Controller software, including group control and Smaart API integration. Participants also explored point-source and line-source loudspeaker principles, system prediction and mapping using EASE Focus 3 and EASE 5, before moving on to spatial audio and immersive system design.
Sessions were led by Marko Jovanvic, applications and solutions engineer, and Simon Godfrey, global sales director at Wharfedale Pro. The programme combined technical presentations with practical workshops focused on system design and operation.
The WPI platform was a central focus, with demonstrations exploring immersive system design and spatial audio applications. The sessions examined how the technology could be used in live performance, entertainment venues and permanent installations, giving participants direct experience of the platform.
Soundcheck also included a gala dinner at Dubai’s Mövenpick Grand Al Bustan, attended by more than 150 guests, including systems integrators, installers, consultants and other audio professionals. The event featured industry awards, games and entertainment alongside opportunities for networking.
Simon Godfrey, global sales director at Wharfedale Pro, said: “There’s a real difference between reading about a technology and actually getting your hands on it. That’s particularly true with immersive audio. Demonstrating WPI in person and working directly with the people designing and installing these systems makes this kind of training incredibly valuable.”
Amrit Shivlani, CEO of Techniline, added that the event brought industry partners together to share knowledge and demonstrate new audio technologies.
