Biamp has marked its 50th anniversary with the opening of a history museum at its global headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, celebrating five decades of development in professional audiovisual technology.
The Biamp History Museum was inaugurated on April 24 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by employees, industry partners, community members and local political leaders. The permanent exhibit brings together products, photographs and memorabilia charting the company’s evolution since its founding in 1976.
Among the displays is an account of the company’s origins, which trace back to a member of Portland band The Kingsmen – performers of the rock standard “Louie Louie.
Rashid Skaf, president, CEO and co-chairman of Biamp, said: “Our 50-year anniversary is a testament to the ingenuity, dedication, and passion of every person who has been part of the Biamp story. This museum isn’t just about looking back – it’s about honouring the foundation that allows us to continue pushing boundaries and creating solutions that transform how people communicate and collaborate.”
The opening ceremony included a performance by the Youth Music Project from West Linn, Oregon, a recipient of Biamp’s charitable grant programme.
Joe Andrulis, executive vice president of corporate development at Biamp, added: “Fifty years of sustained innovation and growth is extraordinary in any industry. The same pioneering spirit that launched this company in 1976 continues to drive us forward as we develop the next generation of AV solutions.”
The museum is open to employees and visitors at Biamp’s Beaverton headquarters.
