LED Studio has announced a partnership with Cree LED to introduce OptiLamp, an intelligent LED component technology that consolidates much of the circuitry typically spread across an LED module into a single diode.

The approach is designed to reduce the number of external components required, resulting in displays that are lighter, more power-efficient and simpler to manufacture. Fewer components also mean fewer potential failure points, the company says, supporting longer product lifecycles and more predictable maintenance cycles.
The technology enables 1/1 scan performance, which LED Studio says delivers smoother motion, richer colour depth and improved on-camera results – making it particularly relevant for broadcast, corporate and immersive environments. Monitoring and calibration data operating at pixel level is designed to maintain brightness and colour consistency more precisely over time.
Robert Bint, CEO of LED Studio, said: “This is about simplifying LED display technology at its core. By bringing together what was once spread across the module into a single diode, we reduce complexity while improving performance. It’s a smarter way to build displays.”
Jesse Reiherzer, VP of Highbright LED at Cree LED, added: “OptiLamp technology was designed to challenge how LED systems are traditionally constructed. Working with LED Studio allows us to bring that simplified, high-performance approach into real-world professional applications.”
