PPDS launches two new TV series for hospitality

Both the 6000 Series and 7000 Series UltraSlim will feature Google Cast, Apple AirPlay compatibility and cloud gaming capability

PPDS has launched two new Philips MediaSuite TV series for the hospitality market. The 6000 Series and 7000 Series UltraSlim will be available in 2026, with availability dates varying by country.

Both series are designed to ship Netflix-ready and feature integrated Google Cast technology as standard, alongside compatibility with Apple AirPlay. The company says guests can cast their preferred streaming accounts securely on screen, with all personal information deleted upon checkout. The TVs provide access to apps on the Google Play store and are cloud gaming ready, enabling guests to access games via personal subscriptions without a console.

The Philips MediaSuite 6000 Series is available in 43in, 50in, 55in, 65in, 75in and 85in sizes and features Ambilight technology, which projects lights from LEDs at the back of the TV onto the wall behind. The company says the dynamic lights change colour and intensity to match on-screen content in real time. Hoteliers can customise the lighting to suit branding or room decor.

The Philips MediaSuite 7000 Series UltraSlim measures less than 3cm deep and is available in 24in and 32in (FHD), and 43in, 50in, 55in and 65in (4K) sizes. The series features conformal coating on circuitry designed to protect against salt, dust and humidity for beachside resorts and cruise ships.

Both series include Bluetooth headphone functionality and feature a triple tuner allowing hotels to offer cable, satellite and terrestrial services in one channel list. The company says the TVs are designed to be integrated into hotel IPTV setups.

A Bandwidth Guard feature is designed to limit demand on network infrastructure, reducing data usage and optimising performance. The company says this enables hotels without high-grade connections to provide streaming services with existing infrastructure.

The TVs have achieved European Energy Label E rating on 24in, 32in, 50in, 55in, 65in, 75in and 85in models, with an F rating for 43in models. The systems can be managed remotely using PPDS’ CMND platform or via a hotel PMS.

Jeroen Verhaeghe, global director product strategy and partnerships for professional TV at PPDS, said: “In 2019, we launched the very first Philips MediaSuite, transforming the perception of traditional hotel TVs forever. For too long, hotel TVs had failed to keep pace with how guests want to consume and access their preferred content – whether linear, streaming, casting, or other online applications – and we changed that almost instantaneously. Now, we are changing it up again, going above and beyond to bring guests’ experiences up to date – not just matching their expectations, surpassing them.”

Jan Van Hecke, global product manager for professional TV at PPDS, added: “Philips MediaSuite with Ambilight transforms the viewing experience in a way no others can. It’s something that must be experienced to be believed. Figures show that over 80 per cent of consumers who own a Philips Ambilight TV would purchase one again when it’s time to upgrade. With this new Series, hotel guests can experience the same benefits – and for those who don’t already have an Ambilight TV, it will open a new experience and bring excellent returns.”

The new Philips MediaSuite 6000 and 7000 Series will be showcased at ISE 2026.
