Biamp has introduced the DS1339W-TAA, a new sound masking loudspeaker purpose-built for government and municipal installations that demand strict compliance with both federal procurement rules and local building codes.
The DS1339W-TAA is TAA (Trade Agreements Act) compliant and manufactured in the USA, making it eligible for federal projects that require domestic sourcing. It also carries CCEA plenum approval for use in City of Chicago buildings – a stricter-than-national requirement the company says is met through a redesigned enclosure featuring a metal lid, sealed non-ported construction, and an integrated conduit adapter for direct electrical connection.
Despite those physical changes, Biamp says the DS1339W-TAA is acoustically equivalent to the standard DS1339 loudspeaker, meaning it is designed to slot into existing Cambridge and Dynasound sound masking systems without recalibration or changes to coverage models.
The loudspeaker operates on a 70V plenum system and is finished in white with a ceiling-mount form factor. Full compliance documentation is included, which Biamp says is intended to simplify specification, approval, and procurement processes on regulated projects.
