Absen has introduced the SA1.5, a new addition to its Saturn Series indoor rental LED display platform, featuring a pixel pitch of 1.56mm – a reduction from the 1.9mm and 2.6mm pitches offered by comparable products in the range.
At the core of the SA1.5 is Absen’s flip-chip COB (Chip on Board) technology, which the company says delivers 30 percent lower power consumption and 40 percent greater stability than conventional products. The panel uses a monolithic structure designed to offer improved protection and longevity, while remaining fully backward compatible with the existing Saturn Series accessory ecosystem.
The cabinet measures 500 × 500mm and weighs 7.2kg. It offers a brightness output of 1,200 nits, an 8,000:1 contrast ratio, and a 7,680Hz refresh rate. A deep black coating and anti-glare film are designed to reduce reflectance and improve on-camera performance, making the panel suited to broadcast environments as well as corporate events and live shows.
Mechanically, the SA1.5 uses a dual-layer die-cast magnesium cabinet with symmetrical triangular structures intended to maintain flatness and resist warping. Installation is assisted by a fast-locking king pin system with visual confirmation, and automatic edge protection shields the LEDs during the build process.
Emma Liu, EU regional president at Absen, said: “By integrating next-generation COB technology into a proven mechanical framework, we have created a truly versatile solution that protects our customers’ investment while pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the rental market.”
