Absen announces new LED panel for live events

PL 3.9 Pro V3, an addition to manufacturer's Polaris Series, uses unibody dual-layer magnesium cabinet to reduce weight and simplify handling, and is intended for both indoor and outdoor use

Absen has announced the PL 3.9 Pro V3, the newest version of its Polaris LED panel series, designed for rental, touring and live-event environments. The panel is intended for both indoor and outdoor use and will be available in Europe from 2026.

The PL 3.9 Pro V3 boasts a unibody dual-layer magnesium cabinet, available in 500×1000 mm and 500×500 mm formats, to reduce weight and simplify handling. Protective features include reinforced corners, triple-guard modules, an anti-drop safety rope and anti-shock locking knobs, all designed to reduce the risk of damage during transport, build and strike.

For visual performance, the panel uses true black-face LEDs and matte anti-reflective masks to increase contrast. Absen lists a brightness range of 0.1-5000 nits, 16-bit grayscale and a 7680 Hz refresh rate for use in a mixture of indoor and outdoor lighting conditions. The design includes front and rear access, with tool-free maintenance on the rear.

Optional additions include an integrated wind-bracing system, which Absen says can support installations up to 20m high and withstand wind loads up to Beaufort force 8. Reinforced triangle hanging bars and an optional climb-assist ladder are also available for service access.

Emma Liu, general manager, Absen, said: “We are delighted to introduce the PL 3.9 Pro V3 to the market. Absen has recently focused on advancing LED display technology for the live events and virtual production market, in response to the growing demand for high-performance, versatile and user-friendly LED solutions. This new product represents a significant development in our display innovation, offering durability, flexible deployment and high image quality.”

Absen says its existing PL Series remains available through Midwich Group.
