Sharp Europe has appointed Paul Yokoyama as its new European president. In the role, Yokoyama will be responsible for the growth and development of Sharp’s European business, focusing on its established document solutions business, expanding its unified IT services business, Sharp DX, and fully integrating its display portfolio.
Yokoyama replaces Joe Tomota, who, after a tenure as Sharp Europe president, takes on a new role as global head of Sharp’s Smart Business Solutions.
Yokoyama has spent two decades at Sharp, having worked in Europe and held senior leadership positions in Japan, where he oversaw business strategy and growth for the Middle East, Africa, Oceania and Asia. In previous roles, he focused primarily on streamlining business operations, business planning and profitability.
Yokoyama said: “This is an exciting time for Sharp as we continue to build an ecosystem that brings together a range of capabilities across products and services to help our customers navigate technological change. We are committed to connecting people and technology, delivering tailored solutions, best-in-class customer service and security for all customers.”
He added: “My priority is to build on our strong foundation to drive sustainable and profitable growth across our European B2B business. I am confident we have a strong team capable of supporting and continuing our business transformation across Europe. Through collaboration, innovation, and building our capabilities together, we can deliver even greater value to our customers.”
