The New Mexico State Capitol has adopted NoviSign’s cloud-based digital signage platform to modernise wayfinding throughout the historic building, known as the Roundhouse for its distinctive circular architecture.
Working with technology partner Sharp Business Systems, which facilitated the sale and coordinated the deployment, the Capitol replaced its printed directory system with a self-managed NoviSign digital wayfinding solution that staff can update independently.
The deployment centres on touchscreen wayfinding kiosks at the building’s main entrances and digital directories across six floors, all managed through a single cloud platform. From a single home screen, visitors can search a complete building directory, follow turn-by-turn wayfinding routes across more than 200 mapped endpoints, explore the Capitol’s history and layout, and browse a rotating art collection spanning more than 600 local artists.
Before the deployment, the Capitol relied on printed signage requiring specialty paper stock and high recurring costs, with every room change, event update or office move requiring signs to be reprinted and physically reinstalled. With NoviSign, staff can now apply updates themselves in seconds without contacting Sharp, NoviSign or outside IT support.
