InfoComm 2018 preview: A quick chat with Exterity’s Colin Farquhar

Ahead of InfoComm 2018, AVTE had chats with some of the leading exhibitors about the importance of the show and a sneak preview of what to expect.

Company: Exterity

Name: Colin Farquhar

Title: CEO

Why is it important for your company to attend InfoComm?

Exterity has been attending InfoComm for a number of years now, and it’s a highlight in our tradeshow calendar because it has helped us maintain a robust local presence in the US. The US is the world’s largest Pro AV market, which means opportunities abound. However, it’s also incredibly competitive, which is why it’s crucial to have a team on-the-ground and exhibit at shows like InfoComm in order to forge and maintain strong relationships with our channel partners and customers.

InfoComm provides us with the perfect platform to showcase our latest IP video and digital signage innovations. New trends are always emerging and it’s important for us to demonstrate how new services can integrate seamlessly with our IP video and digital signage portfolio to meet our US customer’s needs. Our commitment to providing innovative solutions is reflected in our extensive customer list, which includes educational institutions ranging from K-12 schools to universities, including New England Institute of Technology (MA), District 214 (IL), Parkland School District (PA) and Penn Trafford (PA); media houses such as the BBC and Thomson Reuters; corporate institutions like BNP Paribas, Net-a-Porter and Sanofi; and stadiums and venues such as Elbphilharmonie, The Open, and PSV Eindhoven.

What can people expect from you at the show?

At this year’s InfoComm, we’ll be showcasing a number of new products and enhancements to our end-to-end product portfolio. Highlights include ArtioGuest, our new interactive user experience portal that delivers a seamless, interactive TV and video experience for hospitality guests on any device. Visitors to our booth will also see how its flexible UI can be applied to other vertical markets. We’ll also be debuting two new products at the show: Smart Control, a powerful new software app that brings control of key IP video system applications and end points, including non-Exterity devices such as SmartTVs, into one central location; and the AvediaPlayer m9405 4K Media Player, which enables a complete end-to-end, all-Exterity 4K workflow.

We’re very excited about bringing these new products to InfoComm; they address all of the key trends that we expect to see at the show, from the increasing momentum of AV-over-IP through to the proliferation of 4K. Visitors to our booth will see first-hand our commitment to supporting the buoyant AV market across many vertical industries and how users can maximise the impact of their communications with our solutions.

Where can customers find you?
