InfoComm 2026 preview: All Work, Play and AI

North America’s big pro AV expo is nearly upon us. Installation looks at this year's major themes, including “the next generation of work” and the future of live events – and rounds up some key exhibitors

InfoComm 2026 takes place from June 17 to 19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The rotation of venue from last year’s show in Orlando, Florida, brings what show organiser AVIXA describes as a “reimagined show floor” built around the twin themes of ‘Work’ and ‘Play’. This ties in with AVIXA’s branding slogan, “Together, we change the way people experience the world”, and the show’s broad range of AV technologies, from conferencing and collaboration to digital signage, broadcast AV, enterprise IT, learning facilities and live events.

In the run up to the show, more than 750 exhibitors were confirmed based on early bookings. For the 2025 show the final total was 817. Last year at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando drew in 30,998 verified attendees, from a total of 39,579 registrants, of which 35 percent were end users, which AVIXA claims to be a record. “We were very intentional about attracting end users to the show, they are a critical part of growth for the pro AV, IT and broadcast ecosystem,” commented Jenn Heinold, senior vice president for expositions in the Americas at AVIXA. “They drive product enhancements from manufacturers and push for more innovative technology.”

This year sees InfoComm showcasing current or emerging technologies that are driving innovation in a variety of markets that utilise AV solutions. These include both AI-based and immersive systems for scaled integrated installations in the professional and leisure sectors.

“This year, InfoComm celebrates the power of AV to change the world at work and at play,” says David Labuskes, chief executive of AVIXA. “As pro AV becomes a more essential part of customer-driven IT, broadcasting and AI solutions, InfoComm 2026 provides a vital forum to explore those technologies, gain… insights and meet new colleagues who share a passion for shaping the future of our industry.”

WORKPLACE EVOLUTION
‘Work’ and ‘Play’ are divided between two of the Convention Centre’s main halls. Central Hall is focusing on technologies for Work, covering conferencing and collaboration, command and control, digital signage, learning, and enterprise IT. Highlighted booths are the Smart Workplace (C5143), in conjunction with communication and collaboration specialist FORTÉ, a “hands-on, immersive environment” that will feature systems from sponsors including Crestron, Logitech, Q-SYS and Sony; and the Retail Experience, looking at how AV, data and displays are influencing business today.

Major roles will be played in the ‘next generation of work’ by AI and automation in general. This is reflected in the keynotes addresses by Ilya Bukshteyn, corporate vice president of Microsoft Teams calling, devices and premium experiences, and Espen Løberg, vice president of product management for Cisco collaboration devices. Bukshteyn will look at the future of AI-powered collaboration and connected workplaces based on intelligent systems. He sees the next evolution of AI as already here, with “agentic co-workers” assisting people to increase their working effectiveness.

Among the topics in Løberg’s keynote, Powering the Modern Workplace with Connected Intelligence, are how converged AVoIP (AVoIP) networks, collaboration using AI, IT and Cisco’s partnerships with Microsoft, Nvidia and Zoom, among others, can help produce integrated, intelligent and “measurable” working environments.

The practical application of these new techniques is to be explored and discussed on the Vision Stage (C7872), with topics including trend forecasts for AI-powered workplaces and digital transformation; product demos and use-case examples, plus sessions focusing on the design of immersive, person-focused workplaces. These include Zoom: AI-first, Human-centered Workspaces, with Jeff Smith, head of product: workplace at Zoom; and Vision Stage Showdown: Powering the Future Workplace, with representatives from Shure, Barco Clickshare, Cleverbridge, Embrava and AudioCodes.

CONNECTED SPACES
Shure, which is InfoComm’s headline partner, and other companies involved in the development of workspace technologies, are part of the Future Workplace floor show tour, which takes place on June 17 and 18 between 10am-12pm. The tour, led by Jane Hammersley of collaboration specialist Blue Touch Paper, takes visitors round the stands of companies she views as offering innovative technology for workspaces, including conferencing and collaboration.

Workplace and unified communication technologies (UC) are now a major component of InfoComm, with a broad range of technologies from leading manufacturers and developers in the field. Among the highlights on Sennheiser’s booth (C5313) is the latest model in the TeamConnect Ceiling range, the Ceiling M Plus, which features PartnerLink for integration with AV platforms, including Q-SYS. There will also be demonstrations of DeviceHub cloud management and the updated Spectera wideband wireless microphone and IEM system.

Sennheiser is also collaborating with Tightrope Media Systems and PTZOptics on a demonstration of a video accessibility workflow that conforms to the Americans with Disabilities Act Title II regulations. This will take place on Booth C9582 and involve Tightrope’s MediaScribe live captioning and real-time translation system, Sennheiser’s SpeechLine digital wireless mic and a PTZOptics Studio SE camera.

The MSolutions MS-RSE-G secure control device is making its North American debut at InfoComm 2026. It was initially developed for central management of distributed meeting room installations, in addition to being a bridge between IP and UART (RS-232) protocols. After being launched earlier this year, integrators have been finding other applications for MS-RSE-G, including controlling commercial and residential shading.

Lightware Visual Engineering will focus on USB-C connectivity and next-generation AVoIP for BYOD UC situations. The products on show include: Taurus DCX video switching, Taurus Smart Dock and the high-end Taurus UCX advanced switcher platform with peripheral control and BYOD capability. There will also be demonstrations of recently added Google Meet integration features, plus existing ones for Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex.

Another key element of work-oriented AV systems is digital signage, which will be well-represented in the Central Hall with exhibits of signage and content creation software, direct-view LEDs, displays and monitors, media players and servers, projectors and projection screens and touchscreens and interactive displays, including whiteboards.

There is also a full programme of digital signage related sessions, including Digital Signage 101 on June 16, led by consultant Jonathan Brawn; Designing for Impact: How Purpose Driven Content Transforms Digital Signage (also June 16), featuring Stu Siegal, creative practice director at AVI-SPL; and Beyond Signage: Transforming Corporate Workplaces into Connected Digital Experiences (June 17), with Jeremy Hochman, chief executive and founder of Megapixel, and Sammy Moore, global multimedia engineering lead at JPMorgan Chase.

Among the digital signage exhibitors is Philips Professional Displays (PPDS) on Booth C9000. New for this year at InfoComm is the Ultraslim signage range and an expanded selection of AI-ready displays. Also on show, dvLED, the recently introduced Signage 5000 Series, the Videowall display and the ‘zero power’ Tableaux range. PDDS will additionally announce a “major new partnership” with “one of the AV industry’s most trusted manufacturers”.

IMMERSIVE EVENTS
Away from Work, the focus on Play will take over the North Hall, concentrating on audio, broadcast AV, lighting, staging and other tech for live events. These will come together in The Pitch, an immersive stadium-style space featuring technologies installed by lead integrator Diversified for the staging and coverage of sports and entertainment events, featuring LED screens, spatial audio, “environmental effects” and a full broadcast control centre. There will also be demonstrations of live broadcast operations in the AVIXA TV Studio, with daily programmes and spotlights on podcasting and the latest equipment for broadcasting.

The convergence of AV and broadcast has been a key issue at InfoComm and other shows in the last few years and will again be high on the agenda this year. It will be discussed and analysed in several sessions, including Brands as Broadcasters: The New Rules of Enterprise Media Production and Live Streaming in Action. Both will look at how in-house TV and podcasting production facilities are increasingly a priority for corporate organisations.

Further sessions examining broadcast AV, live production and event design will be held on the Spotlight Stage (N6668), including Let’s Get Phygital: The New Playbook for Connected, Fan-First Experiences and Designing Collective Wonder: Light, Art and the Future of Immersive Placemaking. There will also be an opportunity to see the standards, protocols and integrated workflows being used in broadcasting today as part of a show floor tour on Wednesday June 17, led by Philip Nelson, president of broadcast design and AV integrator Nelco Media. Among the technologies that will be highlighted are: AVoIP, NDI and SMPTE ST 2110.

The following day there will be a tour of the AV systems at the Circa Resort and Casino in the company of AV engineering principal Craig Treadwell and AV engineering manager Chris Martinkovich. The venue houses several video-based and hospitality AV facilities, based on Q-SYS and Crestron NVX distributed, integrated platforms with RNWY control software.

As well as these very specific demonstrations and discussions of immersive technologies and the general coming together of sound, lighting and “visual storytelling”, Play in the North Hall will reflect the development of live event production. This includes innovative spatial audio, intelligent lighting systems and automated staging for more immersive concerts and corporate events. Also featured will be dynamic LED environments and synchronised lighting to mobile-driven interactivity for audiences, plus live data overlays.

A leading developer of immersive technologies for live events, Disguise, will be based at its meeting room (N7568) in the North Hall as well as other exhibition areas through its technology partners. The company will demonstrate a new version of its Mapping Matter projection modelling software that features an extended projector library, LED tiles integration options and capabilities to add layers to the project file for set-up comparisons. Visitors will be able to see Disguise technology integrating with Smart Monkeys’ ISAAC show control platform at Booth N7214 and four VXm range servers running Planar’s commercial displays.

Live event systems and technologies will also be presented by AtlasIED, showing its Atmosphere digital audio platform with the new AZP P Smart Amplifiers featuring onboard DSP and integrated loudspeaker tuning, along with the expanded Atlas+Fyne IsoFlare loudspeakers range; and Plexus AV, which is unveiling the P-AVN-6-S transceiver, providing uncompressed IPMX (Internet Protocol Media Experience) and ST 2110 plus native 12G SDI ins and outs for the company’s target markets of live event hybrid production and pro AV.

AVoIP SHOWCASE
IPMX is increasingly being used as part of infrastructures in pro AV as integrators and end-users continue to adopt AVoIP. Cobalt Digital (N7163) is expanding its systems to reflect this and will be exhibiting a full range of signal processors, audio monitors, multiviewers, gateways, converters, encoders and decoders based on ST 2110 workflows. New at the show is the COBALT blueCORE range of multi-functional, standalone signal processing units aimed at providing a bridge between SDI and ST 2110/IPMX. Additionally, the COBALT PACIFIC compression platform will offer a new ST 2110/IPMX output on the ULL-DEC software decoder.

No major AV or broadcast technology show these days is complete without a focus on AI and InfoComm 2026 certainly has that. Central to this is the AVIXA AI Accelerator, offering almost a full day’s worth of sessions about the technology as it relates to AV. Taking place on June 16, the line-up includes: From Possibility to Practice: A Practical AI Framework for the AV Industry; Can AI Design My System?; and Human Oversight and Validation in AI-Enabled AV Projects. “AI is fundamentally reshaping how AV Systems are designed, deployed and experienced,” comments Jenn Heinold. “At InfoComm we’re bringing together the leaders and technologies defining this transformation, from AI-powered collaboration platforms to integrated systems that deliver real business impact.”
