Webcaster X1 enables live social media streaming

Streaming video directly to social media platforms has now got easier according to Epiphan, which is showcasing its latest Webcaster X1 products. Portable, secure and simple to use, Webcaster X1 enables simplified delivery of video content for professional content creators.

The Webcaster X1 product family consists of two devices: Epiphan Webcaster X1 for Facebook Live; and Epiphan Webcaster X1 for YouTube.

Users connect Webcaster X1 to their network, connect their HD camera (with a mic attached) via HDMI and then enter a security code displayed on the front of the device to begin streaming to either Facebook Live or YouTube, depending on the product model.

Slightly more advanced users can use the HDMI output port to display the Webcaster X1 interface on an external display. This interface serves as a confidence monitoring tool and allows users additional configuration options, such as privacy, resolution and bitrate settings.

Developed in collaboration with Facebook and YouTube, Webcaster X1 is the first of its kind in the social media streaming space, Epiphan says. “Webcaster X1 is here to empower everyone engaged in social media, from celebrities to vloggers and news outlets to churches, with the tools they need to stream professional quality HD content,” said Mike Sandler, CEO at Epiphan Video.

“We’re looking forward to showcasing Webcaster X1 for the European market at ISE 2017 and seeing the incredible new content that Webcaster X1 unlocks in our customer base.”
