The growing convergence between pro AV and broadcast technologies will be the focus of the opening panel, and an overarching theme throughout, at this year’s AV & Broadcast Summit, taking place in London on June 24, and co-hosted by Installation and TVBEurope. The panel will feature analysts from Caretta Research, Futuresource Consulting, panel sponsor NDI and the Royal College of Physicians.
Scheduled for 930am-10am, AV & Broadcast Convergence: Where Are We Now? will explore where the two industries currently overlap, where key differences remain and how developments in technology, workflows and user requirements are bringing the sectors closer together.
Moderated by Rob Lane Installation Magazine content director, and Jenny Priestley, content director at TVBEurope, the discussion will bring together analysts, technology providers and end users to assess the current state of convergence and consider how the relationship between the two sectors is likely to develop.
Among the panellists is Robert Ambrose, co-founder and CEO, Caretta Research. Ambrose advises technology vendors and media organisations on market strategy, procurement and product development, and is expected to provide insight into the commercial and technological trends shaping both industries.
Joining him is Helen Matthews, senior market analyst, Futuresource Consulting, whose work focuses on pro video and AV markets. Matthews tracks technology adoption and market developments across a range of sectors, providing a data-driven perspective on convergence.
Sponsor of the panel, NDI, will be represented by Miguel Coutinho who is head of the company. Since joining the NDI in 2022, Coutinho has held senior roles across product, business development and operations and now leads the continued expansion of the NDI ecosystem, which is increasingly used across both broadcast and AV environments.
Offering an end-user perspective is Ben Pain, head of audio visual resources, Royal College of Physicians. With more than 25 years of experience across AV, IT, live events and unified communications, Pain brings practical insight into how technologies from both sectors are being deployed in real-world applications.
The session is designed to set the scene for the wider summit by examining how changing technologies, evolving workflows and market demands are creating new opportunities across both industries.
