The growing influence of artificial intelligence on media production, content management and distribution will be the focus of the fourth panel at the inaugural AV & Broadcast Summit, taking place in London on June 24 and co-hosted by Installation and TVBEurope, with panellists from ITV, TattleTV, EMC Media Labs and Kaurwave.
Scheduled for 12pm-1230pm, AI: Automation, Augmentation or Replacement? Rethinking Media Workflows will explore where AI is already delivering value, where it remains experimental and how organisations can balance automation with human expertise.
Moderated by Rob Lane, content director at Installation, the discussion will examine the practical impact of AI technologies across media workflows, from automated production processes and metadata generation to content localisation and operational efficiency.
Among the panellists is Marina Elderton, CEO, TattleTV, and co-founder of EMC Media Labs. Elderton works at the intersection of content creation and emerging media formats, with experience developing mobile-first content strategies and new approaches to digital content distribution.
Joining her is Purminder Gandhu, consultant at Kaurwave. Gandhu has more than three decades of experience in broadcast technology, including senior roles at BBC R&D, where she led industry collaboration initiatives and worked on projects involving 5G production, connectivity and emerging media technologies.
The broadcaster perspective will come from Paul Kane, director of technology, content supply & distribution at ITV. Kane oversees the technology platforms that support ITV’s broadcast and streaming operations and has extensive experience in media innovation, content delivery and IP-based workflows.
The panel will explore how organisations are evaluating AI technologies, where automation can improve efficiency and where human oversight remains essential. It will also consider how AI is likely to influence future production workflows across both broadcast and AV environments.
AV & Broadcast Summit is a one-day event co-hosted by Installation and TVBEurope, bringing together practitioners from both sectors to examine shared workflows, technologies and opportunities across IP, cloud, virtual production, AI, audio and control room design.
