Unilumin delivers Asia’s largest indoor transparent LED screen

The 2,400sqm transparent display at Central World shopping district in Bangkok, Thailand, uses company's UVF series at 10mm pixel pitch, with brightness of up to 8,000 cd/sqm

A 2,400sqm Unilumin transparent LED installation, described by the company as the largest indoor transparent screen project in Asia, has opened at the Central World shopping complex in Bangkok, Thailand

The installation uses Unilumin’s UVF series transparent screen at 10mm pixel pitch. The display is designed to deliver brightness of up to 8,000 cd/sqm and a transparency rate exceeding 70 percent, while weighing just 8 kg/sqm – balancing high brightness with a lightweight structural design, the company says. A 7,680Hz refresh rate and 16-bit grayscale processing are designed to ensure smooth images and accurate colour reproduction under high ambient light conditions.

To accommodate the complex’s architectural structure, Unilumin developed multiple installation approaches, including frame curtain walls, point-supported curtain walls, and hoisting methods. The product supports customised front-black, back-white aesthetics, the company says, allowing the screen to integrate with the building’s existing design.

The project followed three years of development from 2023, involving repeated sampling, testing, and solution optimisation. During the delivery phase, Unilumin’s R&D and production teams completed product upgrades and batch deliveries in response to changing client requirements, with on-site technical support provided throughout.

Central World is described as Thailand’s premier commercial landmark, adjacent to the Erawan Shrine in Bangkok, with an average daily footfall of over 400,000 people.
