Shure’s IntelliMix Room Kit has been deployed at Drayton Manor Resort in Staffordshire, replacing a patchwork of incompatible AV systems that had left the family theme park’s meeting spaces largely unused.
The Tamworth-based resort – which opened in 1950 and is now part of Looping Group, a pan-European leisure operator – had accumulated technology from multiple vendors over the years. The result, the company says, was an inconsistent and unreliable experience that deterred staff from using the rooms altogether, hampering internal planning sessions and remote collaboration with European colleagues.
The IntelliMix Room Kit is designed to provide an end-to-end audio solution with native Microsoft Teams integration and what Shure describes as plug-and-play setup. The deployment was handled by AV partner Project Audio Visual.
Andrew Davies, head of resorts maintenance at Drayton Manor, said: “People just weren’t using the rooms anymore – they weren’t working to the spec required.”
He added: “No one’s frightened of using the rooms anymore. They just work.”
James Hill, UK director at Shure, added: “Only three businesses were involved – us, our AV partner, and Shure. That meant faster understanding of the client’s challenges and better solutions.”
