Major South Korean project for Technomad

With a seating capacity of 30,265 people, Jamsil Baseball Stadium is home to the Doosan Bears and LG Twins, both of which are professional teams in the KBO Baseball League. The stadium comprises part of the Jamsil Sports Complex along with nearby Seoul Olympic Stadium, and played host to baseball events during the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games.

The new installation saw SBPROLINE specify 18 Technomad weatherproof loudspeakers – a mixture of Technomad Berlin 15/H, Noho C, Paris 616T and Vernal 15T units – in line with the amount of power required for each location.

Rodger von Kries, vice-president of Technomad, told II: “The wide range of Technomad’s weatherproof loudspeaker line allowed us to offer SBPROLINE a complete solution for all of their client’s sound reinforcement needs at Jamsil Stadium, including short-throw, satellite systems, dugout systems and interview monitors. SBPROLINE noted that the weatherproof construction of our products was ideal for the elements of the Seoul weather, which he compared to the weather of New York City. SBPROLINE completed the installation confident they have implemented a solution that will provide excellent sound for years to come.”

SBPROLINE designed, tuned and measured the system for directivity and accuracy, while the installation was executed by local contractors Hoseo Telecom and Dongseo E&C.

In other news, Technomad recently altered its manufacturing process to ensure RoHS compliance for sales into the EU. The company has switched to RoHS-compliant driver and network components for deployment inside its loudspeakers, and eliminated the use of lead within the soldering process.
