Electro-Voice X-Line Advance X2 line arrays and Dynacord TGX20 amplifiers are being used for Level 42’s ongoing UK tour marking the 40th anniversary of The World Machine studio album.
Safe Hands Audio is supplying and managing the system across 32 venues, using SONICUE Sound System Software for setup, monitoring and control. ‘The World Machine’ tour began in September and continues into 2026.
The PA system includes line arrays, cardioid subwoofers, lip fills and balcony coverage with portable EVOLVE 90 column speakers. X2 arrays were selected for their compact form, which is designed to allow flexible rigging in venues with limited load points while maintaining coverage and clarity.
TGX20 amplifiers are designed to provide power and DSP processing, supporting Dante audio networking, while EVOLVE 90 systems cover areas beyond the main PA to deliver consistent audience experience.
Neal Allen, owner of Safe Hands Audio, said: “We’ve gone with a standard setup which we are using in each venue. We designed it to fit the points in the venue with either 12 or nine X2 elements per side with cardioid subs, and that’s what you need for this kind of touring.”
Mark Clements, front of house engineer for Level 42, added: “The X2 line array is compact and easy to fly. It’s suitable for venues with lighter rigging points, and the sound reproduction meets the needs of the band across different room sizes.”
Arthur Achard, senior sales manager at Electro-Voice, concluded: “The X2 is designed with time-aligned cabinets and engineered driver components to provide consistent coverage and performance across the array.”
