ADI and Control4 technology has been integrated into a luxury waterfront residence overlooking North Carolina’s Lake Norman, with the installation designed to provide whole-home control while keeping equipment visually unobtrusive.
Built around the Control4 platform, the system combines Lux Lighting, Triad audio, Araknis networking and Luma surveillance. Control4 brings lighting, audio, climate control, security, surveillance and gate access together through a single interface, replacing multiple standalone applications with a unified control system.
Triad in-ceiling loudspeakers provide distributed audio throughout the main living spaces, while a Samsung Frame TV and selectively deployed Episode soundbars were chosen to complement the interiors. Araknis networking equipment was concealed to maintain connectivity without disrupting the visual flow of the home, and Luma cameras, Luma Bridge analytics, Control4 Chime, Qolsys security and integrated access control provide coverage and protection.
Charlotte-based integrator HTS delivered the project in collaboration with the homeowner and an interior design firm. The design-led approach was established at the beginning of the 16-month renovation, which took the property back to its structural shell. HTS worked with the homeowner and interior designer to agree the positions of televisions, touchscreens and other visible technology, while Lux Lighting keypads and personalised scenes reduced the need for conventional banks of switches.
The completed residence delivers integrated entertainment, automation and security while maintaining the uncluttered aesthetic established by the homeowner and interior designer.
