CODA Audio loudspeaker systems have been installed at one of China’s leading sports and cultural venues, following a comprehensive audio overhaul carried out by integrator Zhejiang Tongbo Vision Technology.
Helong Stadium in Changsha is a 55,000-capacity multi-purpose facility regularly used for China national team football fixtures and large-scale music events featuring both Chinese and international artists. The stadium’s management took the decision to renovate its audio provision to address dual requirements of clear speech intelligibility and high-quality music reinforcement.
The system is built primarily around CODA Audio’s HOPS range of high-output point-source loudspeakers. In the grandstand areas, 32 HOPS12i full-range, three-way cabinets are driven by eight LINUS14 DSP amplifiers. A further system of eight HOPS12T and eight PW418 subwoofers, also powered by eight LINUS14 amplifiers, is deployed for mobile performances within the venue, while six HOPS5 units driven by two LINUS6.4 amplifiers cover the VIP area.
The installation was carried out under considerable time pressure due to a busy forthcoming events schedule, with Tongbo completing the project – from design through to commissioning – in just 12 days.
A Tongbo spokesperson said: “The new CODA system constitutes a major leap forward in audio performance, maintaining exceptional clarity for announcements, with uniform coverage and a natural listening experience in every seat, from the front rows to the furthest reaches of the stands.”
David Webster, global head of sales and marketing at CODA Audio, added: “Tongbo have once again excelled themselves with this installation, particularly as it has been completed in such a short time. We’re very proud to see a CODA system trusted to deliver audio at this high-end international-class stadium.”
