CODA Audio loudspeakers and amplification have been permanently installed at the new 80,000sqm indoor arena at the Guiyang Olympic Sports Centre in Guizhou province, China.
The system comprises 48 CODA Audio APS units (2 x 10in, three-way arrayable point source), 24 HOPS12i-Pro units (dual 12in, three-way high-output point source) and four G515 units (single 15in, two-way), powered by CODA Audio LINUS DSP amplification.
The specification was chosen to deliver consistent sound pressure and vocal clarity across the 12,000-seat venue, from live commentary and background music reinforcement to full-scale performances. A spokesperson for the installation team said the venue required uniform audio delivery to every seat with outstanding vocal clarity, adding that the CODA system achieves this even in a noisy, dynamic competition environment.
The system’s opening test came at the second AIBA World Cup Boxing event of the year, held over six days with more than 200 bouts from June 15 to 21. Ahead of the opening ceremony, organisers had planned to bring in additional temporary sound reinforcement from other brands, but cancelled those plans after hearing the installed CODA system, which then ran throughout the event without issue.
