Clear-Com has announced that Central Christian Church, a house of worship based in Mt Vernon, Illinois, has deployed its LQ Series IP interfaces, Gen-IC virtual intercom, Agent-IC mobile app and Station-IC desktop client to link production staff and volunteers across multiple campuses, including remote team members based hundreds of miles away.
The church produces four live worship services each weekend, streamed to Facebook, YouTube, its online campus, a local ABC affiliate and a second campus in Carbondale, Illinois. The productions are overseen by a volunteer team led by live video director Steve Dillingham, who manages live switching, graphics and video production.
The church’s communications setup combines an existing Clear-Com base station and wireless camera system with an LQ-2W2 interface connected to Gen-IC. Its remote lighting director communicates via Agent-IC, while the Carbondale campus connects into the same intercom environment through Station-IC, enabling teams to coordinate lighting, video, audio, stage management and live sermon broadcasts without noticeable latency.
Steve Dillingham, live video director at Central Christian Church, said: “Our primary challenge was collaborating with our remote lighting director after he relocated to South Carolina. Before Clear-Com, we relied on a mix of phone calls, video chats and separate audio feeds. Now he’s on the intercom system with zero friction, just as if he were standing in the control room.”
The system allows experienced volunteers to continue serving remotely, with the relocated lighting director remaining fully engaged in productions while his wife took on a remote assistant director role.
Dillingham added: “If you need a reliable way to communicate with offsite team members, the Clear-Com LQ Series is the ultimate solution. The headset clarity is amazing, the Clear-Com technical team went above and beyond to help us get everything set up, and once it’s connected, it simply works.”
