Brompton and INFiLED drive virtual production at US studio

Tessera SX40 processors and INFiLED panels combine at production studio Door G's East Providence facility, where physical sets blend with Unreal Engine-integrated digital environments on a J-shaped LED wall

Brompton Technology has announced that Door G, an independent creative production studio based in East Providence, Rhode Island, has adopted Brompton Tessera LED video processors and INFiLED panels as core components of its virtual production workflow.

The studio’s virtual production stage centres on a 17m by 4m J-shaped LED wall constructed from INFiLED flat DB 1.95 panels, with a central curve of flexible Xmk2 1.95 panels. Three Tessera SX40 processors and five Tessera XD 10G data distribution units drive the display, which has been calibrated using Brompton’s Hydra advanced measurement system to enable HDR capabilities. Tessera software features including Extended Bit Depth and Dark Magic are being used to enhance image quality in darker scenes.

The studio integrates with Unreal Engine to blend physical sets with digital environments. Among the Brompton features central to Door G’s workflow is ShutterSync, which is designed to automatically adjust the LED wall to camera settings, removing the need for manual calibration between shutter speeds and frame rates. The studio is also exploring Brompton’s Frame Remapping, Hidden Markers and Custom Markers features.

Joe Ross, senior video technologist at Door G, said: “It’s like the Cadillac of LED processing in the VP world. With their technology, we have the reliability, ease of use, and excellent support that a small team like ours needs to succeed.”

Door G says it is the first creative virtual production studio on the US east coast to receive the EMA Green Seal for Studios from the Environmental Media Association, which recognises productions and studios meeting sustainability standards in entertainment.
