Alfalite, a Spain-based LED display manufacturer, has completed a broadcast installation at RTVE’s Teatro Monumental in Madrid, deploying two UHD Finepix 1.5 MATIX AlfaCOB LED displays at the historic venue – home of the RTVE Symphony Orchestra and Choir and a key production space for Spain’s national public broadcaster. The project was delivered in partnership with BroadService, Alfalite’s AV technology partner.
The two displays, each measuring 3.00×1.69m and positioned on either side of the main stage, are designed to meet the combined demands of television production and live performance. Each screen delivers Full HD resolution of 1,920×1,080 pixels at a 1.5mm pixel pitch, with a 7,680 Hz refresh rate, brightness of up to 1,500 nits and a 20,000:1 contrast ratio – specifications aimed at delivering a clean on-camera image free from flicker, moiré and other broadcast artefacts.
The displays are flush-mounted into the stage side cladding with a minimal overall depth, and feature full front access for maintenance without rear access – a practical requirement in a venue where operational uptime is critical. Silent, fanless operation was also a key specification given the venue’s use for symphonic concerts and live recordings.
The project included control electronics, commissioning and technical training.
Luis Garrido, executive director at Alfalite, said: “Teatro Monumental brings together culture, television and live events. That is precisely where our displays deliver the greatest value: when the image has to perform equally well for the audience in the venue, for the broadcast production team and for a demanding day-to-day operation.”
