UK-headquartered Digital Projection International (DPI) has announced an agreement with K Sera Sera for the sale and installation of 400 HIGHlite projection systems in India. These 400 systems, said DPI, represent the first stage of a much larger, more extensive roll out.

Located in Mumbai, India, K Sera Sera is the fastest growing icon in the media and entertainment sector specialising in the production and distribution of films to the Hindi Cinema market, distributing feature length films, ad films and television shows.

The company has created a business model which combines film entertainment and e-learning, with a mission to open 500 state of the art miniplexes with 1,000 screens in urban and semi-urban locations across India. Each miniplex will have two screens with a minimum capacity of 75 and maximum 125 seat facility.

“With our extensive experience in the Indian market we fully understand the demands made for market leading projects such as that initiated by K Sera Sera,” said Digital Projection International’s sales and marketing director, Nick Cottiss. “The projectors have to be designed for purpose for both the environment and the audiences viewing pleasure. This all has to be supported by a 24/7 service and support operation using an extensive network of tried and tested fully trained engineers from Image Engineering.”

DPI says that its HIGHlite range has been developed for demanding applications with regards to reliability, performance and cost, and that this is the first project in India in which full HD equipment can be deployed because of the rigorous attention to cost of ownership in the projector’s design. According to the company, the HIGHlite range offers high light output with all the benefits of a 3-chip DLP projection system at a price normally associated with a high end single-chip DLP system.
