Projector average selling prices have risen by 26 percent over the past three years, according to new data from Futuresource Consulting, with B2B projectors seeing the sharpest increase at 32 percent.

The findings, drawn from Futuresource’s global price tracking service monitoring retail pricing daily across more than 50 countries and 1,000 websites, reveal significant divergence across segments. Digital cinema projectors have seen the most dramatic escalation, with average selling prices rising by more than 500 percent between 2023 and early 2026. Dedicated home projectors, by contrast, peaked in 2024 and have softened slightly into 2025 and early 2026.
Month-to-month volatility remains significant throughout, driven by promotional cycles, product refreshes and channel activity. A single promotional trough in April 2025 saw B2B pricing fall by $249, while peak-season dynamics pushed overall pricing up by $157 in October 2023.
In the US B2B market, mid-tier brands including BenQ and Optoma have seen year-on-year price increases of more than 20 percent, while premium brands such as Panasonic have experienced declines – narrowing the gap between tiers.
Lucy Brenton, senior pricing and data manager at Futuresource Consulting, said: “The greater advantage comes from seeing how pricing evolves over time, across regions, retailers and competitors. That’s what allows businesses to move from reacting to pricing, to actively managing it.”
