Unilumin lights up World Cup with 8.5m-pixel Dallas fan festival

Manufacturer has deployed large-scale LED displays across Dallas, Kansas City and hospitality venues in Southern California and San Antonio, supporting the 2026 tournament’s expansion beyond stadium venues

Unilumin has supplied more than 8.5m pixels of LED display technology at FIFA Fan Festival Dallas, part of a wider series of installations tied to the 2026 World Cup spanning fan festivals, a mixed-use sports district and hospitality venues across the US.

In Dallas, working with AMS Events, the company deployed a 5m interactive LED sphere, built using 3.9mm outdoor LED technology and containing approximately 3.7m pixels across a structure weighing around 13,000lb. The sphere allows visitors to scan a QR code, upload a photograph and see their image displayed on the screen in near real time; construction, integration, testing and commissioning took seven days ahead of opening. The venue at Fair Park is designed to accommodate up to 35,000 visitors at a time.

Unilumin and AMS Events also supplied the Main Stage LED display at Dos Equis Pavilion, also within Fair Park. The 46x26ft URMIII 3.9mm outdoor LED wall delivers a resolution of 2912×1664 and more than 4.8m pixels, used for live broadcasts, performances and tournament content.

In Kansas City, Unilumin partnered with AmpThink to deploy a district-wide LED system across Current Landing and CPKC Stadium, totalling more than 4,000sqft of displays. The installation includes video boards, ribbon boards, plaza displays, retail signage and a practice field videoboard, alongside an 8.5m-pixel virtual production studio built to support broadcast production, sponsorship content and player media opportunities. The Kansas City Current Training Facility was selected as the Netherlands men’s national team’s official training base for the tournament.

Across Southern California and San Antonio, NOVO Brazil Brewing has installed nearly 1,750sqft of Unilumin LED displays across its five locations, combining indoor fine-pitch displays, outdoor screens and four-sided cube displays to create match-day viewing environments.

Marcello Marques, director of business development – sports at Unilumin, said: “Digital display technology has become a key part of that ecosystem, helping venues create more engaging experiences while unlocking new opportunities for storytelling, sponsorship activation, fan engagement and long-term commercial value. We’re proud to support our partners as they prepare for this new era of sports entertainment.”
