Hisense RGB MiniLEDs drive VAR operations at FIFA World Cup 2026

Technology selected for International Broadcast Centre in Dallas, which is acting as the tournament's central hub for global media operations, supporting match coverage and live broadcasting worldwide

Hisense RGB MiniLED displays have been deployed for VAR operations at FIFA’s International Broadcast Centre (IBC), the tournament’s central hub for global media operations, supporting worldwide match coverage and live broadcasting.

According to Hisense, the RGB MiniLED displays were selected for their colour reproduction and image clarity. Unlike conventional LED backlighting systems, the technology uses individual red, green and blue diodes to generate colour directly at the source, and is said to enable greater colour precision and detail.

The new International Broadcast Centre (IBC) was opened in Dallas by FIFA president Gianni Infantino

“We’re proud that Hisense is an official partner of the FIFA World Cup 2026,” said Howard Grindrod, vice president at Hisense UK. “With the latest in RGB MiniLED technology being utilised by officials, it’s a testament to the quality and innovation of our displays.

“More broadly, we’re excited to see our displays in use throughout the tournament, delivering clarity, colour and picture quality to those working within the tournament’s central media hub and helping to share the stories of the FIFA World Cup 2026 with audiences around the world.”
