frame:work, which has run conferences, meetups and its New Talent List since 2019 through volunteer effort, has moved to a formal membership structure with the launch of its new website, framework.video.
The organisation – known within the industry as a hub for “live pixel people” – brings together designers, engineers and producers working with video and screens for live entertainment, installations and virtual production.

Laura Frank, executive director, said: “Twenty-plus years ago, video was an accent piece on the stage. Today it is the stage. And yet the people who design, build and run those surfaces – the creatives, technologists and producers of creative video – still fight for a place in the pre-production conversation.”
Membership benefits include a searchable member directory, discounted access to frame:work’s annual conference and regional meetups, a formal mentorship scheme, private channels on the organisation’s Discord server, and a shared community event calendar for training sessions, meetups and trade shows.
Individual membership is split into three tiers: Participant, aimed at those new to the field; Practitioner, for those actively developing their work; and Professional, for established practitioners and leaders.
Company partnerships range from the entry-level Community tier up to the Studio tier, aimed at companies regularly engaged in production, design, engineering and delivery. Premier Partnerships go further still, with the Industry Partner tier and a Sustaining Partner tier available. Company and Premier partners receive unlimited membership seats for staff.
Sarah Cox, board member, added: “Growth was never the number. It’s whether people feel they belong here and can contribute and feel that what they know is worth sharing or help someone looking for advice. Everyone has something to teach and something to learn, and membership is how we make room for that support and growth across our pixel community.”
Full details of the membership programme are available on frame:work’s Membership Benefits page.
