Datapath colleagues, customers and partners rallied together in 2025 to raise thousands of pounds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital, taking on a series of challenges and hands-on volunteering efforts, raising a grand total of £5.7k. Highlights included a muddy, morale-boosting Tough Mudder, a spirited Dragon Boat Race that brought a flotilla of Datapath “chickens” to the water, and finishing the year with the team’s festive Jolly Jumper Day.
The hospital was selected as Datapath’s charity of the year following the experience of senior international sales manager Andy Lee, whose son Alfie received treatment there for craniosynostosis as an infant. Lee and his family were able to stay with their son during his treatment at the hospital.
Andy Lee, senior international sales manager at Datapath, said: “Birmingham Children’s Hospital is very close to my heart and my family. The support shown by everyone at Datapath over the past year has meant a great deal to me, and the funds raised will help support children and families going through similar experiences.”
Fundraising activities included a Tough Mudder challenge, a Dragon Boat Race and a Jolly Jumper Day. Datapath has also introduced two paid volunteering days per year for employees supporting the hospital, which the company says is designed to encourage longer-term involvement.
Funds raised were allocated across several areas of the hospital, including £1,600 for Ward 10 to support parent facilities and play resources, £3,100 for the hospital’s ‘It Starts Here’ entrance redevelopment campaign, and donations of toiletry packs for teenage patients.
