eGlass transparent lightboard to debut at InfoComm 2021

All-in-one communications tool features built-in camera and adjustable LED lighting

Pathway Innovations, Inc has announced that its eGlass illuminated glass writing board – the world’s first transparent lightboard with built-in camera – will debut at InfoComm 2021, taking place October 27-29 in Orlando, Florida. An all-in-one communications tool, eGlass merges the presenter’s face and writing, along with presentation media, into a single picture for in-person or remote collaboration. At booth 3943, Pathway will demonstrate how to jump-start engagement with the award-winning solution, while giving away 20 units to eligible booth visitors over the course of the show.

“When you write on a whiteboard and turn your back to your audience, you lose the valuable face-to-face connection that’s critical for engagement,” said Bayley Pierson, eGlass director of marketing. “And when you turn to your audience, you’re no longer facing the content on the board. eGlass represents a transformative change in collaboration technology by providing a transparent surface on which presenters can write while facing the audience. It draws participants in with the presenter’s facial expressions, body language, and gestures, while allowing the presenter to watch the audience’s faces to gauge interest and understanding.”

Available in 35in and 50in models, eGlass is easy to set up and use by connecting to a PC, Mac, or Chromebook with a single USB cable. Built-in software allows almost any digital content to be “seamlessly imported” into the camera window, enabling the presenter to markup the content with glowing annotations after automatic background removal is applied. As presenters write on its glass, eGlass’ integrated camera captures their faces, writing, drawings, and annotations, while displaying media from a computer in any format.

eGlass’ software automatically flips the content so it reads correctly for the audience. It offers one-button image capture and video recording features and is compatible with Zoom, Teams, and other virtual meeting platforms. LEDs embedded in the unit’s frame intensify the physical pen ink with an eye-catching glow that is highly visible on-screen and in-person. With the ability to add meeting notes, training exercises, brainstorming ideas, or engineering diagrams, it is ideal for in-person, remote or hybrid meetings of all types in both higher education and enterprise applications.
