Extron launches USB-C transmitter

DTP3 T 321 extends USB-C video, audio, data and power up to 330ft over a single CAT 6A cable, aimed at long-distance connectivity in pro AV installations

Extron has announced the DTP3 T 321, a 4K/60 USB-C DTP3 transmitter that extends video, audio, data, power and bidirectional RS-232 signals up to 330ft (100m) over a single shielded CAT 6A cable.

The unit features a USB-C input, local HDMI output and two USB device ports, and supports resolutions up to 4K/60 with 4:4:4 colour sampling, EDID Minder and HDCP 2.3, with all supported resolutions delivered uncompressed.

The transmitter supports local USB connections at 10 Gbps data rates and provides remote power for DTP3 receivers. It handles long-distance transmission of USB-C DisplayPort alt-mode video, including Deep Colour, 3D and embedded HD lossless audio formats, with the USB-C input combining video/audio, USB data and device charging over a single cable – removing the need for a separate power or data connection to a laptop.

The DTP3 T 321 provides 60 watts of standard device charging power, rising to 100 watts with the addition of the UPI 100 power inserter.

Casey Hall, chief marketing officer for Extron, said: “The DTP3 T 321 makes it easier than ever to connect and power USB-C devices in professional AV environments. By combining long-distance signal extension, device charging, and USB connectivity, it streamlines integration while maintaining exceptional performance.”
