ISE insights: Ariel Marcus, MSolutions

CTO of provider of pro AV connectivity technology discusses ISE 2026 in our exclusive interview

How many times have you attended ISE, and in what capacity?
I’ve been attending ISE since 2013. For the first three years, I participated as part of the HDBaseT Alliance, where I founded and led the HDBaseT training programme, educating installers and integrators on how to properly implement and certify HDBaseT systems. It was an incredible experience to help raise the technical knowledge of the AV community and to connect with professionals driving the industry forward.

In 2016, after founding MSolutions, I began attending ISE as CTO and co-founder of the company. Since then, we’ve exhibited every year, showcasing our latest innovations in USB extension, HDBaseT testing, and connectivity solutions for professional AV. ISE has remained our main global platform for sharing technology, meeting partners, and presenting the engineering excellence behind our products.

What are you most looking forward to seeing, or experiencing at ISE?
ISE is always about discovery – new technologies, new partnerships, and new ideas. This year, I’m especially looking forward to seeing how manufacturers are addressing the growing demand for USB-C connectivity in professional AV spaces. I’m also excited to meet with integrators looking for practical, real-world solutions, as reliability, interoperability, and long-distance USB extension are at the core of what we do.

Which tech trends do you think will dominate the show floor and why?
USB-C and hybrid connectivity are set to dominate. We’re seeing rapid adoption across corporate and education markets, driven by the need for unified, high-bandwidth connections that handle video, data, and power through a single cable. Alongside that, AVoIP continues to mature, but the focus is shifting towards simplicity, interoperability, and reliability. Sustainability and serviceability will also be key themes this year.

How has the AV industry evolved since the last ISE, and how will it be reflected at the show?
The AV industry has evolved towards total system integration. The separation between AV and IT is nearly gone, and installers now expect plug-and-play solutions that deliver stable, multi-signal performance. Since last ISE, the market has shifted significantly towards USB-C and flexible workspace connectivity, something we have championed for years. You’ll see this reflected in more all-in-one products that merge power delivery, data, and video with minimal setup.

Do you have an opinion on the ongoing convergence between AV and broadcast, something ISE is reflecting in both the diversity of its exhibitors and also its events programme?
Absolutely. The convergence between AV and broadcast is both natural and inevitable. Today’s corporate and educational environments rely heavily on broadcast-style video production, from hybrid events to internal communications. Technologies such as USB cameras, PTZ control, and IP-based video workflows are now common to both worlds. At MSolutions, we design solutions that make this convergence seamless, ensuring low-latency, robust connectivity that supports both AV and broadcast applications.

What role does ISE play in your business planning and decision-making for the year ahead?
ISE is the most strategic event in our calendar. It helps us align our roadmap with global trends and gather direct feedback from partners, distributors, and end users. Many of our product decisions are refined based on the conversations we have at ISE. It’s also a critical venue for nurturing relationships, expanding our network, and identifying new growth opportunities in corporate, education, and government sectors.

Are there any particular product categories or solutions you’re prioritising this year, and why?
This year, our focus is on USB-C and Alternate Mode extenders, as well as advanced testing tools for AV and USB infrastructures. The market’s rapid transition towards USB-C has created real challenges in maintaining signal integrity and power delivery over distance. Our goal is to simplify that for integrators, providing reliable, long-distance USB-C extension, full DisplayPort Alternate Mode, and true plug-and-play performance.

What will you be launching or showcasing at ISE 2026, and what problem does it solve for your customers?
We’re proud to unveil the world’s first USB-C-to-C extender supporting full DisplayPort Alternate Mode with 60W power delivery, a genuine breakthrough for the pro AV industry. It eliminates the need for docking stations or converters, allowing a single USB-C connection to carry video, data, and charging up to 100m. For integrators, that means cleaner installations, fewer points of failure, and total flexibility for modern meeting rooms.

How do you plan to make your booth experience stand out on the busy show floor?
Our booth will feature live, hands-on demonstrations where visitors can experience our extenders and testing tools in real operation. We believe in showing, not just telling. Attendees will be able to test USB-C and HDBaseT links, explore our MSTestPro diagnostic tool, and talk directly with our engineers about their real-world challenges. We’re not just presenting products; we’re demonstrating performance and reliability in action.

What conversations are you hoping to have with visitors to your stand?
We want to have meaningful conversations with integrators and system integrators to hear their opinions, gather feedback on our existing products, and better understand the new needs and challenges they’re facing in the field. Our goal is to learn directly from those implementing our solutions every day, so we can continue to refine our designs and deliver products that make their installations simpler, more reliable, and more efficient.
